Spring Trek Planning

Cold weather gear: Having some type of facial coverage while in the elements outdoors keeps everything in place and easier to breathe.  With cold air rushing at your face, breathing into a cloth holds some moisture and heat.

Commuting cyclists like to travel light.  These ditty style backpacks are perfect for light treks.

Reflective gear and brightly colored garments helps runners and cyclists stay visible before dawn and at dusk.

Hydration is key for distance treks.  Plan ahead by investing into a camelbak and or affixing water bottle carriers to your bicycle.

Whether you're style cycle is beach or road ready, you'll want to have a secondary means of transportation during that first spring thaw and long summer weekends beside the pool.

Eventually I will be satisfied with these manufactured style lights.  The distance ahead of me, line of sight, doesn't seem to be adequately illuminated by these.  I've tried a couple. Might try just zip tying a camping flood lantern to the handle bars until I find a better light.

Metal pedals are more sturdy than plastic ones.  Some cyclists chose to upgrade to modified peg style pedals that require special footwear.

Bungee cords are nice to keep for securing items for carry along.

Air pumps are available in super compact hand held style, medium foot operated, or one could rely solely on the gas station air pump.
